Debra began singing at the early age of 4, always performing for family and friends in full wardrobe hopeful to become the next Barbara Streisand. Although she was limited to performing at home, it all soon changed at the age of 12 when she auditioned for a traveling youth musical group called "Volume One". She continued on to perform with another traveling youth group, "The Sound System", in 1980 - 1981 which lead her to performances at Busch Gardens, Walt Disney World and the Tampa Theater to name a few as well as performing for President Ronald Reagan. She also took part in state competitions with Superior scores for which she was awarded 4 Gold Medals in various vocal categories, including Classical Music.
Debra's musical journey was happily put on hold to start and raise her family at the age of 21. As the years flew by, life took her down many avenues leading her to find her true soulmate, Robert in 2007. He encouraged her to pick up where she had left off and that is when the magic began. Together they created a project called Nevertheless, a progressive rock experience, and performed in the Tampa Bay area with a tremendous amount of positive feedback from patrons and venue owners. After a few months of experiencing band member changes, the band dissolved. While in the process of creating a new project, Robert answered an ad to audition to be a fill-in drummer for a music festival in Melbourne, Florida called "Bozfest". While at the audition it became obvious that the lead singer was not capable of performing the song selections satisfactorily so Robert suggested that Debra sing until they could find a permanent singer. They never looked for another singer. Debra and Robert went on to perform the festival as "HYPWITCH" and formed a friendship with the founder of Bozfest (Michael who is now Manager, Sound and Lighting Engineer and mastermind for the project) that to this day is still considered a sacred bond. The band's name was born from something that Debra holds very dear to her heart: metaphysical intuitive gifts that she's had since she can remember. Now she shares her Incredible Vocal Ability and Keyboard Skills on Stage to fulfill a dream with a Great Family based group of EXTREMELY TALENTED musicians. Her philosophy: "I believe music is a Universal language and (while sending well-wishes to all) I want to speak with everyone".
